Couture Skin Art! (Temporary, of course!)
I LOVE ...love Meagan, and she got these fabulous temporary skin art tattoos from Chanel, check it out:
Although I love these, there's no way I could justify forking out $75 for temporary tattoos, even if it IS Chanel! We're in a recession, people! So, I took to the Interwebs to find a bargain, and I came across StrayTats.com that lets you choose to either create your own custom temp tat, or choose from their gallery. They have a style that think would make a cute bracelet tat that I am seriously considering:
And at $1.05, I don't even have a hint of buyers remorse!!!

Popcorn Cake Pops and German Chocolate Cake Bites
YUMMM! Hubby asked for some Cake Pops for his birthday and I was really excited to deliver! I made red velvet cake pops w/ cream cheese icing and vanilla flavored candy melts for coating. And, German Chocolate cake bites with dark chocolate coating sprinkled with candied pecans. I'm glad he took these to work because otherwise I'd be 5 lbs heavier right now!
Check out these pics from the first time I made cake pops for some info on the process:
First, bake a cake according to the directions, and tear it up and put it in a big bowl. Microwave a can of icing for about 30 seconds and stir into the crumbled up cake.
Then, put the mixture in the fridge for a while, approximately 30 minutes to an hour. Remove from fridge and roll into balls and put on wax paper.
Take some lollipop sticks (you can get these at a craft store in the cake decorating section) and dip in melted candy melts, stick it in the rolled up ball of cake and then dip into melted candy melts.
Stick the pops into a cube of Styrofoam (get this in the floral section at a craft store) and let the melts harden - this usually takes about 10 - 15 minutes:
And, here's my final creation for hubby's bday!
You can use any combo of cake and icing! Check out the German Chocolate bites:

Flower Cupcakes
I am so desperate for spring and flowers, I think any type of flower would make me happy right now! Especially flower CUPCAKES! Last year for Sweet Pea's birthday I made these, and they were a HUGE hit! Believe it or not, they were really easy to make, too!

Birthday Tutu! Happy 5th Birthday Allison!
Badge Albums
Last year for Mother's Day I created these badge albums for Sweet Pea's grandma's (and one for me, of course!) I loved how these fit right on your purse, and you can customize them with the embellishments and design. Time to start thinking about what I'll make for Mother's Day gifts this year! Only a few more months!

Pastels Butterfly Mobile
This is another butterfly mobile I made for a friend who is expecting a baby girl. The colors in the ribbons around the ring make this one that is very versatile in the decor it will coordinate with. We chose to give this one clear strings to hang from, rather than using tulle. This technique really gives the mobile a "floating" illusion. Lots of whimsical butterflies floating around, what more could a little princess ask for?

Random Acts of Kindness
“I am only one, but I am one. I cannot do everything, but I can do something. And I will not let what I cannot do interfere with what I CAN do.” -Edward Everette Hale
I recently came across a fabulous event designer who did something amazing to celebrate her birthday. On her 38th birthday, she committed 38 random acts of kindness (RAOK). I am so inspired by this that I've already talked to my hubby about making it a goal for us to go out of our way and do something kind and unexpected for someone at least once a week. I think this would be a wonderful way to teach our daughter compassion, and hopefully warm someone's heart in the process!

Art for a Cause! Helping Kids with Cancer and the St. Baldrick's Foundation
A good friend of mine from high school has the most gorgeous family! His children are beautiful and you can see the happiness radiating through them in their photos! But, behind all the smiles there is a past that would stop your heart. When their youngest child, Andy, turned one, he was diagnosed with cancer. Andy has been brave and undergone numerous treatments and is now a happy, healthy little boy! (I've once heard little boys described as noise with dirt on them...I wonder if little Andy fits the bill?)
So, to celebrate Andy's health, between now and March 6, we will give 20% of all sales from our esty site to the St. Baldrick's Foundation. St. Baldrick's is the world's largest volunteer-driven fundraising event for childhood cancer research. At Foundation events all throughout the year, brave volunteers shave their heads, raising funds for childhood cancer research. Like runners in a marathon, "shavees" collect donations from friends, family and associates. The St. Baldrick's Foundation receives these funds and makes grants to research experts to find new and better cures for fighting kids’ cancer.
Or you can make a direct donation to Andy's mom's site here:

Paper Butterfly Mobile
This is a butterfly mobile I made recently for a co-worker who is having a baby girl. She is doing the baby's room in black, pink, and white, and this will be going in little baby Khloe's room. I think it adds such a whimsical, magical feel! I love the way the butterflies flutter with the slightest breeze.

A Fairy Princess Wand
Sweet Pea is on this kick lately where she sniffs EVERYTHING! She even tried to sniff the lamp at Nana's house last night! I thought she might have fun with a Fairy Princess Wand so I made her one last night and was sure to put a flower on it so she could sniff till her little heart's content! I even put a little bell inside so it would jingle just a little bit when she plays with it! What do you think?
